I’m always amazed that the joy of the Lord is literal medicine to your body. As time moves forward and more research is conducted, modern science is confirming what was written by King Solomon over 1,300 years ago.
“A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” —Proverbs 17:22 AMP
Recently, Dr. Lee Berk and Dr. Stanley Tan of Loma Linda University found that laughter can lower blood pressure, reduce stress hormones, improve cardiac health, boost T cells, release natural pain killers called endorphins, and more.
At an even greater level, the healing power of supernatural joy goes above and beyond the abilities of laughter because it’s a wellspring found in the presence of God (Psalm 16:11). The very presence of God brings healing to the body.
A 2013 Gallup poll showed that 51% of adults in America take a multivitamin every day because they believe it’s beneficial to their overall health.
Isn’t it interesting that Christians will take a vitamin every day, convinced that it will increase their health, but many neglect regular access to the presence of God which ensures divine healing?
Make a decision to fill your prescription on a daily basis by entering into the joy of the Lord.
The time you spend in the presence of God is the most valuable investment you will make each day.
In that meeting with the Holy Spirit you will receive:
- Fresh instructions
- Strength to accomplish your purpose
- Overwhelming joy
- Healing for your body
- Divine wisdom
- Guidance
Have you ever wondered why the devil works so hard to keep you out of the presence of God? He uses the frustrations and anxieties of the natural world to rob you of fellowship with the Lord (Mark 4:18–19).
Now that we’re realizing how many illnesses and relationship failures are centered around stress, we understand the scope of our enemy’s plan. He wants us walking around with broken spirits and dried up bones.
Today is the day to determine that you will not be a walking bag of dry, dusty bones. You must purposefully decide to access Heaven’s pharmacy and fill your joy prescription daily.
